Nice to meet you, I'm Cortney—an organic gardener and single mom of three. I help people who have always dreamed of growing their own food finally do it — with a simple, manageable system that fits any space and puts clean, chemical-free food on your family's table.
A few years ago, I almost walked away from the one thing I'd loved for twenty years:
I had 28 raised beds on 3.5 acres. A 230-year-old farmhouse. A garden that looked, from the outside, like exactly what a passionate grower should want.
But behind the scenes, I was exhausted. Spread too thin. Constantly behind. The joy had quietly disappeared, and I didn't know how to get it back.
I was trying to live a version of gardening that had stopped fitting my life — and I couldn't see it yet.Â
When my marriage ended and I moved to a smaller home, I had a choice: quit entirely, or rebuild. I rebuilt. And rebuilding taught me something I hadn't learned in twenty years of growing food: a smaller, more intentional garden doesn't produce less. It produces better — for you, for your family, and for your sanity.
I now grow more food than I ever did in about 1,000 square feet with raised beds, grow bags, and self-watering planters. My three daughters eat from it every week. And it takes me about 30 minutes a day.
That rebuilding is the foundation of everything I teach.
What I know now — and wish I'd known sooner:
You don't need acres. You don't need perfect soil, or a big budget, or years of experience. You need a system that's designed around your actual life — your space, your schedule, your family's food.
I'm a Clemson Master Gardener with 20+ years of hands-on experience across Michigan and South Carolina, two completely different climates and soil types. I've killed plants, rebuilt gardens from scratch four times, and learned what actually works for a real family eating real food.
If you've always wanted a garden but never quite started — or you've tried before and it fell apart — I'll make it simple enough that you'll finally feel ready.
