WHAT'S INSIDE

A Simple Plan You Can Actually Use

Inside the printable, I'll show you:

  • The lettuce varieties I'm growing for fall and winter, including which ones I'm using while it's still hot.
  • My actual 78-plant layout across one GreenStalk and two raised beds, so you can see what a real lettuce plan looks like.
  • A simple worksheet to figure out how much lettuce your household actually needs and how much growing space it will take.
  • A beginner-friendly way to work backward from your area's 10-hour daylight date so you can estimate when your lettuce needs to be planted.
  • My simple cold-weather protection notes for keeping mature lettuce going as temperatures drop.

Why I Made This

For a long time, I thought fall gardening was mostly about watching the temperature.

But lettuce taught me that daylight matters just as much.

Once our days get down around 10 hours here, growth slows dramatically. A cover can protect lettuce from cold, but it can't give the plant more daylight.

So instead of waiting until fall feels cool enough to start thinking about winter lettuce, I'm working backward from that short-day period and getting the plants sized up first.

That's the plan I've laid out for you in this guide.
